Bio<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

YOLANDA DOM\u00cdNGUEZ is an expert in egalitarian communication. He studied Business Administration and Management and Fine Arts, both at the Complutense University of Madrid and has a Master’s Degree in Art and New Technologies from the European University and a Master’s Degree in Photography from the EFTI School in Madrid. He is a member of the UNESCO Chair in Education for Social Justice at the Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Madrid. <\/p>\n

She has been awarded by institutions such as the Union of Valencian Journalists, Constitutional Women, White, Black and Magenta Awards and the Isonomia Foundation, among others. He regularly collaborates with media outlets, such as Radio 3 and Article 14. She is a renowned speaker at equality congresses and universities around the world. <\/p>\n

Her TED talk “Revealing stereotypes that do not represent us” is used in equality programs. She currently works as a consultant, trainer and advisor in communication companies such as Radio Televisi\u00f3n Espa\u00f1ola and Disney Spain and is the author of the books “Maldito Estereotipo” and “Las Mujeres Facturan” with the Penguin Random House Publishing House. <\/p>\n

Learn to identify the stereotypes normalized in our visual culture<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Objective of the course: <\/span><\/h3>\n

The objective is to learn to identify the stereotypes normalized in our visual culture, understand how images work and how they affect our education and the construction of identity, what role they play in social inequalities and how we can propose alternatives that allow us to enrich the imaginary and make us freer. <\/em><\/p>\n

Images, in addition to being a vehicle for individual expression, have a social function in which more actors than the author are involved. Learning to use them with awareness and commitment is part of what is considered to be a good professional today. <\/em><\/p>\n

In this theoretical-practical course of 6.5 hours total, Yolanda will talk about the following points: <\/strong><\/p>\n

  • How Images Work<\/em><\/li>\n
  • Consequences of stereotypes<\/em><\/li>\n
  • Mass Communication <\/em><\/li>\n
  • Main gender biases in the audiovisual world: advertising, cinema, fashion, television, music and the press. Examples and analysis <\/em><\/li>\n
  • Equality and diversity <\/em><\/li>\n
  • Pinkwashing<\/em><\/li>\n
  • Situation of visual culture at the moment<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

Examples and analysis – Equality and diversity, are they the same? – Pinkwashing: activism or marketing – Where are we now? Old stereotypes, new wrappings<\/p>\n
