Every day, 5.3 million new photographs are taken. We share them, we look at them and they excite us or disappoint us. But why does photography have this power over us? Why can a simple image awaken memories, emotions, ideas or even change our perception of the world? <\/span><\/h5>

A journey through photographic thought<\/strong><\/h5>

We invite you to discover the ideas that have shaped our understanding of this medium. For 2 hours, we will explore how great thinkers have reflected on photography: from the pioneering critique of Charles Baudelaire to contemporary debates on artificial intelligence and synthetic images. <\/p>

Who is this workshop for?<\/strong><\/p>

This workshop is designed both for professional photographers who want to delve into the cultural dimensions of their work, and for amateurs who feel that photography goes beyond mastering the technique and repeating visual schemes.<\/p>

What you need to take this course is curiosity to understand why photography is such a natural part of our daily lives, why it excites us, and how it has transformed the way we see and remember.<\/p>

These reflections are not abstract: they have a direct impact on how we photograph, how we look at the images of others, and how we understand the role of photography in contemporary society.<\/p>

Beyond the click. A journey through theoretical reflections. A reflection on what we see and how we see it. <\/h5>\n

The workshop \u201cLet’s think about photography\u201d offers a chronological journey through the main theoretical reflections on photography, from the first criticisms of the nineteenth century to contemporary debates.<\/p>\n

We will explore the fundamental contributions of thinkers<\/strong> such as Charles Baudelaire, Walter Benjamin, Roland Barthes, Susan Sontag and many others, discovering how they have understood photography as art, document, experience and social phenomenon.<\/p>\n

We will analyse key concepts<\/strong> such as the \u201cBenjaminian aura\u201d, the Barthesian punctum, technical reproducibility, or the tensions between reality and fiction in the digital age.<\/p>\n

We will also discuss contemporary and non-Western perspectives,<\/strong> including the contributions of photographers and theorists from Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America who have expanded and questioned the dominant theoretical frameworks.<\/p>\n

We will address current debates on photography and artificial intelligence<\/strong>, collaboration in image creation, the decolonization of photographic archives, and new forms of visual ethics. The aim is to provide a comprehensive understanding of how photography has been thought of throughout history and how these reflections can enrich our contemporary practice and understanding of the photographic medium. <\/p>\n
