Since 2014 Fotoplatjadaro has been bringing photographic culture closer to amateurs and professionals through courses, seminars, competitions and Photographic Days in different areas of the municipality of Castell d’Aro, Platja d’Aro and s’Agaró.
An initiative of the city council and the Mercè Rodoreda library, the coordination of its activities is in charge of the Photographic Association “Educating the Gaze”, formed by Diego Espada, Alicia Bada and Muriel C. de Jong, photographers and communication professionals.

For amateur and professional photographers, a look beyond the photographic snapshot
Fotoplatjadaro offers an annual set of workshops, conferences and masterclasses by renowned photographers, who invite you to learn, experiment and reflect. With the aim of promoting audiovisual and AI culture beyond technical knowledge, the programme, which varies every year, aims to contribute to visual and AI literacy.
From 2025, after having held 11 editions of “photographic days” (an annual weekend with a program full of workshops and photographic activities), we have changed the formula and instead of concentrating everything in a single weekend, we carry out several short courses and workshops, which you can consult in the “workshops” and “BiblioLAB” tabs.
