Conference: On passion, humanity, conflict and photojournalism.

Maysun is a Spanish-Palestinian freelance visual journalist and cinematographer. Since 2004, she specializes in documentary reporting and international news coverage, with special attention to the Middle East. She has a Pulitzer Prize nomination, has been a speaker at Tedx and has been published in TIME Magazine, New York Times and National Geographic, among others.

In this 1.5-hour conference Maysun will deepen, through a tour of her photographic work in conflict zones, about the role of passion in the performance of photojournalism and how it is a vital tool for the common good and the proper functioning of society. She will talk about her experience since he started in photojournalism, about the changes he has observed in the sector, and how he believes it is evolving.

ABOUT MAYSUN:

Maysun (Maysun Abu-Khdeir Granados, 1980) is a Spanish-Palestinian independent visual journalist and cinematographer.

Since 2004, she specializes in documentary reporting and international news coverage, with special attention to the Middle East. She was nominated by the European Pressphoto Agency for the Pulitzer Prize in 2013, for her coverage of the Syrian Civil War.

In 2017 she gave a lecture for TEDx. Her work has been published in TIME Magazine, New York Times, National Geographic, among others and collaborates with renowned entities such as the University of Oxford or Columbia.

She is an associate of ACM “We Count the World”, an international association of women communicators who have come together to become stronger and more visible as a collective, help each other and balance a still very masculinized sector.
