Professional and amateur photographers
11, 18 & 25 October 2025
10-13h
Masía Bas, Platja d’Aro
(2 days)
& Fine Art Printing,
Banyoles (1 day)
This workshop, made up of three sessions of three hours each, proposes an approach to photography understanding it not only as an image, but also as a physical object, with the final impression as a tangible result.
Its structure is inspired by the three great classic books of Ansel Adams – The Camera, The Negative and The Copy – which for decades were one of the most effective methods of photographic learning. These volumes configured a continuous and complete methodology that covered the entire photographic process, from the conception of the image to the final result.
In this spirit, we propose three three-hour sessions, theoretical, but above all practical, with a direct and functional methodology. We will work in depth and concretely on the three key stages: capture, editing and printing.
The first two sessions will take place in Platja d’Aro, at the BiblioLAB facilities in Masia Bas, and the last one will be held at the facilities of La Impresión Fineart in Banyoles.
1. Capture, where we work on the different elements involved in the capture of a digital file, focal choice, exposure values (EV) – Iso, diaphragm and speed -, tools and methods of measurement and analysis of light, color temperature, type of file, dynamic range and contrast control, contrast ratios, …
2. Editing, in this session we take our file to editing programs such as Capture One or those of the Adobe suite. We will manipulate the image at a generic and zonal level in values of white balance, contrast, saturation, focus, …. and we will adjust it based on the necessary color profiles and pre-press analysis.
3. Printing, in the last session we moved to the Fine Art Printing space in Banyoles, where with the collaboration of its director we printed a selection of the images created and prepared by the participants in different formats, finishes and materials in order to analyse and check the final results and the influence of the different elements: papers, inks, my.
Anyone curious about photography. No previous experience or professional camera is necessary: mobile phones are more than enough to participate. The methodology allows each participant to adapt the proposals to their own level, from those who start from scratch to those who already have advanced knowledge and want to delve into specific aspects.
