Workshop: The Way in Photography

Introduction

Photographic Language Workshop: Form

Theoretical-practical mini-workshop on introduction to form and composition in photography.

To understand form is to understand composition: the way in which elements appear, relate and dialogue within an image.

Form (shape) allows us to tell stories, generate tension or suggest what is not shown. We’ll reflect on the importance of looking before you shoot and deciding what’s inside and what’s outside the frame.

The workshop takes place in two sessions.

The first session will be mainly theoretical. The second session will be with tutored practice and experimentation.

La forma en fotografia

Program & Registration

goals

    • Understanding Form and Composition in Photography
    • Understand how to use form and composition to tell stories
    • Learn to decide what goes in, and what we leave out of the frame of our photo

Program

  • Session 1. Theoretical introduction to form and composition in photography (2h).
  • Session 2. Tutored practice in a group (under study). Introduction to form management and composition in post-production.

Those who have participated in the workshop will be able to request an additional tutored practice session in a smaller group, which will take place between November and December 2025, a date to be agreed.

Who is it for?

Anyone curious about photography. No previous experience or professional camera is necessary: mobile phones are more than enough to participate. The methodology allows each participant to adapt the proposals to their own level, from those who start from scratch to those who already have advanced knowledge and want to delve into specific aspects.
