An introduction to photography and visual language

It is an advanced photography course designed for those who want to learn to analyze photographic images, delve into compression and its characteristics , as well as improve their abilities to select, order and edit their photographs in order to generate visual narratives .

The classes will be theoretical and practical where the students will work analyzing the images and narratives of classic authors, as well as applying the knowledge acquired in their own creations.

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES:

These concepts will be covered:

The brief aesthetic history of photography: A journey through the trends of photography to try to locate the different movements and aesthetic values that are our precedents.

Image analysis : Tools and Systematology to analyze photographic images at a technical, aesthetic and expressive level.

Visual narrative: Techniques and principles of photographic editing (selection of images, order, sizes, accompanying texts…) in order to generate a story and a narration

IMPORTANT:

This activity may be suspended for reasons unrelated to the organization due to the exceptionality caused by Covid-19.

If it had started, if a new confinement were to take place, the continuity of this activity would be carried out online through one of the existing platforms such as Zoom or Meet.
